Smart Data Innovation Lab and Teralab are the subject of the Franco-German government consultations

Merkel und Hollande wollen SDIL europäisch vernetzen

We are proud that the Smart Data Innovation Lab has also become well-known on a political level. In the press release of the Franco-German conference in Paris “Acceleration of digital change in the economy” from 27 October 2015, SDIL was mentioned as the only German project. At the invitation of the French President, François Hollande, more than 400 high-ranking representatives from start-ups, international companies and public institutions such as EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, Chancellor Angela Merkel and German Minister for Economic Affairs Sigmar Gabriel and his French colleague Emmanuel Macron participated. Together, the two ministers adopted a statement in which they encourage better cooperation in the digitalization of the economy. With regard to digital transformation and innovation in the field of cloud computing and Big Data, besides SDIL, the French “Institut Mines-Télécom” project is mentioned in the statement.

The relevant paragraph can be found on page 4 of the declaration:

“The two governments will ask the Mines Telecom Institute in France as well as the Smart Data Innovation Lab in Germany to intensify their collaboration, investigating data applications in various economic areas.”

« Les deux gouvernements demanderont également à l’Institut Mines-Télécom en France et au Smart Data Innovation Lab en Allemagne de renforcer leur coopération pour étudier des cas d’usage de données dans différents secteurs de l’économie. »
